Ns2- for absolute beginners...(coz i m a beginner too..)

it is basically a network simulator,(ns) version 2... i am using right now 2.33.Ns-2 is written in C++ and an Object oriented version of Tcl called OTcl.
U can have it for both linux and windows platform.Although the software originally is suitable for linux platforms only.
Mainly the packages one has to install are or better just take the all in one package(assuming you are a beginner)

· Tclcl |
· Ns2
· Nam--- visual views of the result
· Tracegraph (for Windows), or Xgraph (for Unix) --- obtain statistics.

first download the source from--

decompress it . run ./install.. set appropriate paths as shown in the read-me...then ./validate.this usually completes the process.(validation can take quite a long time n may show warnings but its ok)

i dunno y i m writing today. its just that i have nothing else to do and being alone in the lab i have no one to talk too... so i guess the time should better be spent scribbling something here...
ok so lemme think.. o yah this word reminds me of one of my friends who suggested me one day when i was bored someday to give yourself some time to think..i strongly feel that he was very right. really when you have some spare time jsut THINK about something.. think something related to your life may be your friends live or your family members.. leave it thoughts dont need to be so specific...just think about anything.. just lie down stay calm and think about the first thing you can think [;)]...
coming back to the topic (i diverted a bit thanks to thinking...) ... majors over today and finally 2 years of college life over... had lots of good and bad times.. well i dont want to admit but most of the times bad times...but yeah some really good times too...[:)]...neways .... dunno y but i really feel that life is on a fast track now...no time to think basically... i donno how but days seem to pass faster now.. may be the standard of a second needs to changed..

today is one of the very few days when one would have really nothing to do..although this may seem contradictory viewing the 2.5 months long summer vacation ahead. but it really is true... even at home the time seems to pass so fast..2 years of life here over... (neglecting the summers of course).... but still have 3 more years....

The First One..

finally i have created a blog for me.sorry i dont intend to write this blog for anyone.I suppose no one is reading this EXCEPT me..
and now after all those games movies surfing chatting i have now got one more interest. I shall now write just how much i want. No boundaries no one to bother.nothing
Only me n perhaps YOU-- the lousy reader...:)
Since this is my first post so it should not go waste writing nething.I should make this more fruitful.
How about sharing the experience of choosing my blog's name.!!!!
First of all my name is Abhishek Sagar.I knew this being a common name it would be impossible to register this name for me. I tried abhisheksagar though.and as I was hoping somebody else had registered it.And then I started searching for possible names. Whatever sensible name I could think of was already registered.Utterly frustrated by the numbers of bloggers persent I then started thinking of some heavy words from dictionary.I succeded in finding some of the unregistered sensible names but still I was not satisfied somewhere.Finding a blog of your name is better I thought.So I thought may be I should not be writing these blogs. Afterall who ever reads it except for the writer!!![;)]
But when this thought occured I actually thought of giving one last lousy attempt. As in the meantime thought for "abhishek-sagar" had occured to me.
I gave it a try n finally i got my registered name. the one i wanted. the one with no nonsense words.the one with no heavy words(at least for me).
And so i was here writing my blog.

Enough long to be the first one I suppose..;)
